Your questions answered:
I've never had reflexology before. Does it hurt?
No, reflexology doesn't hurt although some areas of your foot may feel tender. If this happens, it pinpoints areas for me to work on and I know many sedation techniques so it won't hurt you.
My feet are ticklish. Will I be able to have reflexology?
Yes, it's very different to tickling. You'll be so relaxed and the techniques used are very different to tickling.
What's a typical session like?
Your first session, i will carry out a short consultation about your medical history and lifestyle. This will help me to tailor the treatment to suit you. You can expect your first session to last around 80 minutes including the consultation. After this, I'll write a personalised treatment plan for subsequent treatments.
Following in from this, your usual treatments will be 50 minutes with five minutes either side for catch-up and findings so please allow an hour.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on what you are coming to see me for. Depending on your treatment plan it could be weekly or monthly.
Where are the treatments carried out?
I have a relaxing treatment room in my home where I carry out many of my treatments although I do offer mobile services within a reasonable distance. Please note that my treatment room is up a short flight of stairs so if you struggle with them, I can come to you.
What do I sit on?
I use a reflexology chair called a Lafuma. It looks like a sun lounger but reclines a lot more. It's very comfortable.
What do I need to wear?
For a treatment, I only need access to your hands or feet so you'll just need to remove your shoes and socks.
